SYF 2007 - Central Judging for concert bands

Once in every 2 years, we participate in the central judging & this year, zsb have gotten themselves a silver award! I felt relieved and happy & I'm indeed really was. Although we didn't get GOLD as we aimed, it's still good to so-called maintained the silver (in actual fact, we improved damn lot). Some might feel disappointing, yes. bronze, silver, silver again. Why not bronze, silver, gold? Looks so much nicer and satisfying. & yes, this year was the last time the sec 4s are taking part in the SYF. If we get gold, we can feel proud and happily leave the school. Who don't want GOLD frankly speaking? I also want the GOLD. It's so prestige. It can makes us feel that we are very good.

However, this year's standard has gone up, & although some said we were in the high silver range, in actual fact we do not know our marks and all if we really just missed the few points to touch the tail of the GOLD. And we knew ourselves we made some mistakes which GOLD bands don't or 1000000000x much lesser. Okay, I'm not trying to depress anyone that we can't get gold. But it's the fact. Maybe we really were in the high silver range.

For others who most probably would not know all this, they might think we didn't improve, but we knew it within ourselves. Most importantly, our instructor was very happy with our playing saying us musical & even closed his eyes at one part. This showed he was really in the music with us and he enjoyed. I'm happy with that also. (zx, very unexpected meh? u think i so lengxue ar...lol)

Anyways, for sure our instructor will have to rebuild the whole band again, like us the last time. We don't know what the future holds. But next time, haha, we gotta go & see the SYF orh bandmates?

After the SYF, we are preparing for our mid-yr exams. As we've promised or said, we will study hard after SYF, I hope we can do that. lol. Studies, is another our top priority. WE MUST GET GOOD RESULTS TOGETHER OKAY? We are also performing for the awards' day in july, wearing the band uniform & we gotta take band photos on that day too!

Our band life in sec sch is ending. =X From counting the no. of months to stepping down, we are already consider free now. & I can say, there's more to talk about band than class. Band is a tough cca, teaching u to be disciplined, determined...& I think it's the best CCA in the school...(are these from my mouth?) Oh yes. we are musicians..........the best in the school...yeah! We have a very strict, funny, u may hate & like de instructor!!! So serious in music. Very scary at times. I used to be damn scared of him and when do tuning, I would shiver alot & have wet hands when it's coming my turn.......=(

tt's all about band. so much unforgettable memories.

Next up.
Yesterday (13/4)

Went to esplanade there with jasmine (crabber, the bdae girl), junnie, jac, joanne, belle, skine. We initially wanted to go to the DXO ( club or pub lo)...but it's not yet fully opened or what so we went to the merlion there....see see, take pics. Could see the big ferry wheel which would only be opened next yr.

So anyways, we went to boat quay or clark quay (dunno how to spell) to find another pub/club. We walked damn long like a night walk there....walked here walked there but in the end we couldn't find the place then we took cab! When we reached there....continued walking....walked passed many pubs then i looked inside. alot of angmos lo. as we were about to giving up finding the place....we actually reached the place.....actually only 18 & above can go in...but the person let june and jas to go in and have a look. They said it was full of the cigarette smell and loud music. Damn lots of angmos. Oh ya, he let only 2 person go in. Then we went coffee bean there to buy some drinks. After that, thinking we have come so far, shld have a look inside cos initially i was quite scared by the ambience. HOWEVER, the other guy asked if we were 18, we said nope, 16? yes. SO HAPPPY. But, he said needed to check id. sian diao. means me and kl cannot go in! wth...but anyways, at the later part, joanne, jac, belle didnt went in cos he only let 1 person go in but they dont want mah. how sad is that! cannot even take a look inside. I want to explore and see new things mah.

After O lvl we will go june de godbro's there.........wahahah....dao shi hou then see bah....kk, i gt headache typing all these....took me more than 30 min!!!!!! more!!!!
